Jacobs Massey has played a pivotal role in building the team of audio visual technicians at The British Museum, as Chris Power, Head of Audio Visual, explains ...
Our association with Jacobs Massey started in 2003, we were looking at how to resource a wide ranging set of activities with quite a small team. We needed to both bolster our existing staff and also to look at the way we were operating at the British Museum. We put out a tender to various agencies for a review of our AV services. We found the successful candidate to conduct the research via Jacobs Massey and as a consequence of the review we recruited a further three members to join the team.
The review acted as a catalyst to push forward further changes and has improved our situation here tremendously. We have a bigger team and the Museum itself is aware of the potential problems involved staffing AV, which is now becoming recognised as a specialised discipline. It has acted as an education process for the people we work for, our users, and has raised the perception and value of the audio visaul serivces that we provide.
We now have a team of six people and when we need additional freelance technicians we always go to Jacobs Massey because we can rely on the calibre of people supplied. ”
